Then, make your offer including all your conditions, if this offer reaches the seller’s objective, Autocarmatch will give you a response within 24 hours of his acceptance or refusal, or again, Autocarmatch may follow up with a seller’s counter-offer.

If you accept – A purchase or a lease agreement offer will be sent to you and arrangements (inspection, road test, SAAQ etc.) will be made for you and the seller to meet with Autocarmatch’s representative to settle all the requirements for delivery.

The truth, really?

Please acknowledge that you’re doing business with a consumer just like you. With that in mind, he has no interest to treat you differently than he would like to, period.

The seller has to declare all pertinent information that the buyer is entitled to know. The seller knows that his honesty will be appreciated, that the buyer will be more incline to make an offer and in that way, both parties win. If this vehicle have been involved into an accident, even a minor one, it will be mentioned, the experience is that’s its always advantageous for the seller to declare it.

Finally, keep in mind that the buyer has no obligation to respect his buying offer if at the time of delivery he finds non-declared information that he should had known. Also, take note that this clause is part of the purchase offer previously signed by both parties.

What about the selling price?

Sort out and compare similar equipped cars that you may find on the web with the approximate kilometers, and then call Autocarmatch’s agent. But, please consider the following:

  • What explains the big gap between the price I was offered by the merchant and the price that he advertises it for? Answer: They offer extended warranty and financial subsidized rates, change tires, brakes and much more…! *
  • Do the advertised prices reflect the reality? Should I expect a big difference between the asking price and the selling price? 500$, 1’000$ or more…! *
  • Is the vehicle worth more than average because of good care or for the low kilometers? Can I have or claim proof about it…! *
  • How does aftermarket products affect the price such as winter tires, extended warranties, rust proofing, replacement warranty, Sherlock, remote starter, GPS and more…! *
  • How long am I willing to wait for the buyer ready to pay the fair market price? 2 weeks, 1 month or more…! *
  • Am I willing to sell the car rush by advertising it at a lower than average market price so to get more potential buyers…! *

* Your answers will guide us to advertise the vehicle at the right price and negotiate as per your personal circumstances.  Autocarmatch will master all your requests.

But, who am I dealing with?

You’re dealing with a consumer just like you that decided to buy the service of Autocarmatch as an intermediary. Autocarmatch takes the pictures, the information and write the descriptive text received from the seller to post on the Internet.

Therefore, Autocarmatch takes the calls, handle the negotiations and send the documents of the written offers, making sure that all conditions are respected by all concerned parties.

Was the car involved into an accident?

You’re buying a vehicle from a consumer who has no advantage to misguide or mislead you, since he’s acquiring another vehicle (in most cases) at a dealer and use that sale as a trade-in and retrieve his taxes against it. (See FAQ : The truth, really…)

But, if this causes too much concern, before making a conditional ‘Purchase Offer’, click here and it will give you a complete history of the vehicle that is reported. Or consult the SAAQ.

Please take note – It is understood that if the conditions are not met as promised by the seller, the buyer will be under no obligation to purchase or sub-lease the vehicle; unless both the seller and the buyer mutually agrees at that moment to settle any unforeseen problems so that both are satisfied.

Can I see or drive the car first?

WHAT DO YOU SEE? – The seller is a consumer as same as you; selling a car is not his cup of tea as goes the saying! That’s why he uses the services of Autocarmatch as an intermediary to take the pictures, write a full description of the vehicle to put it on the Internet and to handle the transaction. (See FAQ, The truth, really…)

TAKE NOTE, that WE strongly suggest an inspection before you take possession of the vehicle, that you thoroughly examine it and make a road test, making sure that vehicle fits exactly the written description and that all conditions are respected as promised on the ‘Purchase Offer Agreement’

What about a sub-lease?

A common and convenient way (approximately 70% of all cars sold in North-America) to acquire a vehicle today is by leasing it.

So, sub-leasing a vehicle from an actual lessee has also become common.

The advantage for the future lessee is evident, as he doesn’t have to pay the first and last payment for a vehicle that is always under warranty that usually has just a few months remaining.

The advantage for the actual lessee is also evident as the dealership or the leasing firm handles everything. Fees are always requested, so it’s better to call for information at Autocarmatch.

How about the taxes?

Buying a vehicle from a consumer in Quebec involves paying only the PST *, that is true, but if the sale is completed at a dealership or a merchant, the seller retrieves his tax as a credit from his trade against another vehicle. Should you by a vehicle that is on a lease, this tax principle never applies and the buyer will have to pay both taxes without any exceptions.

* Nonetheless, the buyer will always have to pay the TPS at the SAAQ. So pay the taxes at the SAAQ or the merchant does not change anything for the buyer, but the seller will still benefit of a TPS credit on his new vehicle.
